Aamaa Milan Kendra (AMK) is a national level non-governmental organization dedicated to the cause of rights and dignity of women. It was established on the auspicious occasion of the International Women’s Year in 1975 and was registered in the District Administration Office, Kathmandu. Later, it was brought under the aegis of Social Welfare Council (then SSNCC) in 1978. Over more than 30 years of its foundation, AMK has successfully established itself as one of the leading NGOs in the country working for the development and empowerment of women specially the underprivileged one. It is the pioneer women-focused organization in the country with a mission to empower women at all levels of society and make them full partners in the nation building task.AMK is also affiliated to NGO Federation and Women’s Pressure Group and has been accredited by UNFPA to work as an executing agency in Reproductive Health Initiative for Youth in Asia (RHIYA).
